Fierro is the retired chief medical examiner for the Commonwealth of Virginia and retired professor emeritus at Virginia University. She is the model for the Kay Scarpetta character in Patricia Cornwell's crime fiction.
 
  7:30PM 10:00PM SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET   The Departments of Theatre and Music at Midwestern State University present Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Stephen Sondheim. After fifteen years in exile. Sweeney Todd, a barber by trade, returns to London to take revenge on the man who tore apart his family. He and Mrs. Lovett, the struggling owner of a pie shop, implement a macabre scheme. Showtimes are Thursday-Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:30pm at the Fain Fine Arts Center Theatre at MSU. The Box Office is open Monday-Friday 1:00pm-5:00pm when school is in session. Prices are $10.00 General Admission, $8.00 Seniors, Military & Students, $7.00 Groups of 10 or more
