THE ARTIST-LECTURE SERIES
The Artist-Lecture Series at MSU presents Beppe Gambetta and Peter Ostroushko at 7:00pm in Akin Auditorium. Gambetta, an Italian guitarist who loves American music, and Ostroushko, a Ukrainian-American mandolin and violin virtuoso, will perform an evening of cross-pollinated roots, jazz, and folk. One of Europe's foremost guitarists, Genova-based Beppe Gambetta is an innovator on the acoutic guitar, and Peter Ostroushko is one of the finest mandolin and fiddle players in acoustic music.
Tickets are available at the Clark Student Center Information Desk two weeks prior to the event.

The historic Backdoor Theatre presents Chicago! In roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie Hart, an ambitious chorus girl, murders her lover. She then convinces her gullible husband, Amos, that her lover was in fact a burglar. Amos agrees to take the rap until the police convince him that the burglar was in fact Roxie's lover. Thus, Roxie goes to jail and joins another famous stage performer and murderess, Velma Kelly. Both Roxie and Velma are headline hunters seeking to capitalize on pre-trial publicity for the sake of acquittal and stage careers. In the end their tricky lawyer, Billy Flynn, manages to get both Roxie and Velma free.
Thursday performances begin at 7:30pm, Friday & Saturday performances begin at 8:00pm, and Matinees begin at 2:30pm.
