The Kitchen will host its annual Fish Fry & Silent Auction on Friday, March 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Red Door Senior Citizens Center located at 1000 Burnett Street in downtown Wichita Falls.
The all-you-can-eat catfish dinner has been said by some to be “the best catfish in town,” and is the yearly signature fundraiser for the Wichita Falls Meals on Wheels program. Silent auction packages from as far away as Branson, Missouri will also be available to the highest bidder.
Meals on Wheels volunteers take hot, home-delivered meals to seniors, homebound and disabled residents across 52 Wichita Falls routes every weekday, Monday through Friday.
The Meals on Wheels program currently serves an average of 750 seniors per day in Wichita Falls. Additional funding from The Priddy Foundation and the Walmart Foundation will take another 142 seniors off the waiting list to bring the total meals delivered to almost 900 across the city.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3-12, and children under age 3 eat free. Tickets are available by calling 322-6232. Every $10 ticket sold will fund two meals for those who need them.
If you’re not able to stay for the catfish and fun, call ahead and your order can be picked up at the drive-thru.
