Fall has officially arrived and with it comes the ever growing plethora of anything and everything pumpkin spice flavored.  Let me stop you right here; if you are a die-hard, pumpkin-everything creature of Fall, especially those of you who bake a good deal of pumpkin treats, this next bit of information may be too shocking to handle.  

 

You've been eating squash pies all these years. More specifically Dickinson squash pies.  

 

Yep, those orange cans of "100% pumpkin" we've all used for years are actually not pumpkin at all but a puree of Dickinson squash and butternut squash.  

 

As a sidenote, there's probably no reason to stop a good thing and start roasting your own pumpkins...
