In April 2015 King's Grocery on 9th Street closed it's doors and left a Wichita Falls neighborhood with limited shopping options. Many of the residents in the neighborhood are either elderly or do not have a means of transportation to travel the miles to one of the larger chain grocery stores and were left to rely on the Dollar Saver and Walgreens, according to the Times Record News.
Luckily, a local family who already owns and operates several gas stations stepped up to the task of bringing the building up to date. The grocery store should be opening very soon to serve the neighborhood once again.
UPDATE: KFDX reports that King's will reopen on Wednesday, October 5th.
